What can deep breathing do for you?
Did you know deep breathing can help manage pain?
Deep breathing techniques can help the body restore homeostasis and release endorphins. When endorphins are released, they bind to your body's opioid receptors providing an analgesic effect, or pain relief. Deep breathing also helps to calm the sympathetic nervous system to help with relaxation both mentally and physically.
Take 3-5 minutes at least once per day to practice deep breathing. With regular practice, the body will be able to respond quickly with the release of endorphins with just a few deep breaths.
