A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HEALING

Body. Mind. Soul.

Meet Alicia Poche, the owner and practitioner of Beyond the Physical. With over 17 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Alicia has dedicated her career to helping people overcome acute and chronic pain. After realizing that physical modalities alone were not always a permanent solution, Alicia began exploring other treatment modalities to address the body as a whole, including the psychosocial aspects of pain.

Alicia holds a B.S. in Kinesiology focusing on Human Movement and a Master's in Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center, New Orleans. She is also certified in Integrative Dry Needling (CIDN), The Emotion Code®, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Additionally, Alicia is a Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher and has been trained in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).

Alicia's approach to healing includes not only the physical body but also the mind and emotions. She uses various approaches during treatment sessions to achieve lasting results for her patients. Alicia is also a Continuing Education Creator/Presenter, with her most recent presentation being on Pain and the Mind-Body Approach in November 2019.

Choosing  a fee for service physical therapy clinic offers several benefits over a clinic limited by the traditional medical model. These clinics typically provide a more holistic approach to care, focusing on the individual's overall health and well-being rather than just treating specific symptoms. By offering a variety of services such as manual therapy, dry needling, emotional release techniques, energy therapy, and mindfulness techniques, patients have access to a more comprehensive treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. Additionally, by not allowing insurance companies to dictate treatment modalities and looking at multiple areas and systems of the body provides a more integrated and personalized approach to care. This can lead to better outcomes, faster recovery, and an overall improved quality of life for patients.

TESTIMONIALS

“I had lower back pain that just wouldn’t go away. It hurt to bend down or even to tie my shoes. Alicia suggested dry needling. I was nervous at first but it did not hurt one bit - Alicia was a true professional and administered the needles quickly and painlessly. I was skeptical at first but the dry needling dramatically improved my back pain. I would recommend 100% - Thanks Alicia!”

“Alicia is a special kind of healer... She has so much to offer, and truly wants to impact people in a positive way. I'm very grateful to have found her, and profoundly grateful for her insight and treatment. Besides the physical assessment and structural alignment work, Alicia offered me NET (Neuro-Emotional Technique), and it helped connect so many dots! The mind/body connection is a very real thing! I love that Alicia's goal is to help her clients make that connection, and encourage them along their journey of self-discovery and healing. Absolutely recommend her!”
